The Galley Reinvents Kitchens, Again
At this year’s Kitchen And Bath Industry Show, The Galley debuted two new designs, The Galley Dresser and The Galley Tap, which won not only Silver in the Best of KBIS 2017 kitchen category, but scores of fans. We’ve blogged about the company’s whip-smart, fully integrated kitchen workstations before and are thrilled to share these latest additions.
The Galley Dresser is “democratic" and built to "hold its own in any style of kitchen,” says its designer, Doug Durbin of Chicago firm NuHaus. “And it’s just as amazing and beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. My approach was to thoughtfully stitch together the ultimate in culinary function with the best kitchen furniture,” he adds. The Dresser is designed to function perfectly with the Galley Workstation, and comes in four sizes (4, 5, 6, and 7 feet) with multiple high-gloss color options (as well as fumed eucalyptus), 9 hardware finishes, and the client’s choice of accessory material. The ebonized-walnut interior is specially designed to store Galley Culinary Tools and essentials like utensils, knives, spices, and oils. Each design is made-to-order and numbered at the company’s Tulsa, Oklahoma headquarters, and all are like nothing else on the market.
The Galley Tap, which was designed by David Kotowsky of Hydrology of Chicago, works in harmony with The Galley Dresser but stands equally well on its own in any kitchen. The stainless steel, single-level control faucet comes in four finishes, as does the accompanying soap dispenser. The design's easy-to-pull hose, ergonomics and overall efficiency make it ideal for small spaces. “It’s the world’s first and only kitchen faucet specifically designed to function perfectly within a kitchen work station,” says Kotowsky.
The signature aspect of all Galley designs is their incredible functionality. Smart layouts enable users to prep, cook, serve, entertain and clean up all in one place. There’s no crossing the kitchen twenty times to get the work done—everything you need is right at hand.
